Time to countdown the hottest eight songs in the country and check out their videos, too.  It is the Top 8@8 on the Mix 103.9FM.  Pharrell Williams joins the countdown this week and that makes us all "Happy".  Here are the top 8 songs:

Alanis Morissette, born in Ottawa Canada on June 1, 1974, became a female rock icon in the 1990's.  Her first internationally released album, "Jagged Little Pill" climbed to number one on the U.S. album chart on this day, March 10, 1996.  Morissette was the first female Canadian to achieve this.

American Authors single, "Best Day of My Life", means more than ever as they take over the number spot this week on the Top 8@8.  Time to countdown the hottest eight songs in the country and check out their videos, too:

Although this Berlin, Germany, rock group only had one charting U.S. hit, they had everyone singing "99 Red Balloons", the anti-nuclear protest song  The band, Nena, featured singer/actress, Gabriele "Nena" Kerner on lead vocals.  The single was originally released in German, "99 Luftballons", then re-recorded in English as "99 Red Balloons".

The following videos are amazing.  Young kids rocking on the drums.  I guess it is true, some people are just born with great talent.  It takes great rhythm and coordination to pull off what these youths are accomplishing.  Rock on!        

The rock group from Sayreville, New Jersey take the spotlight today in music history.  Bon Jovi, featuring Jon Bovi on vocals, Ritchie Sambora on guitar, Dave Bryan on keyboards, Alec John Such on bass, and Tico Torres on drums, hit number one on the U.S. singles chart with 'Livin' On A Prayer', on this day in 1987.

Bastille joins the Top 8@8 this week coming in at number eight with their single "Pompeii".   After six weeks on top, OneRepublic falls to number two this week.  That means we have a new number song.  Let's count down the hottest eight songs in the country:

How disappointed were you when Chris Daughtry was eliminated from American Idol, season five?  It was a shocker, but this story has a happy ending.  Daughtry didn't settle for fourth place.
