Bainbridge Murder Suspect Identified as John Guzy, Former NYPD Cop

A Chenango County Corrections officer and former NYC police officer, accused of murder will appear in court Friday.  56 year old John Guzy of Bainbridge will appear at a felony hearing in Bainbridge Town Court Friday at 11 AM. Guzy faces a charge of 2^nd degree murder in the death of 26 year old Derek Prindle.  Prindle and his father were shot Monday during a “road rage” incident on Route 7 in Bainbridge. The father is recovering from a gun shot wound. Guzy is being held at the Chenango County Corrections Facility while State Police continue their investigation. An autopsy conducted on 26 year old Derek Prindle determined he died of a gunshot wound to the chest with the manner of death being Homicide. State police are asking anyone who witnessed what happened prior to the shootings to call State Police at Sidney at 607 561-7400
