The Cooperstown Central School District has named two new leaders with years of experience to head up the district. One is a Cooperstown alum, James Brophy, class of 1972. He is filling a newly created position of K-12 Director of Comprehensive Student Programs and Athletics. He is a longtime guidance counselor, social studies teacher and basketball coach. The new principal for the middle/high school is Donna Lucy, a New York City Department of Education veteran who received Congressional recognition for excellence in STEM education. She begins officially on August 1st.
